ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of warm needling therapy on the conduction of hand-arm motor nerve and sensory nerve in patients with occupational hand-arm vibration disease(HAVD). METHODS: Male occupational HAVD patients were divided into control group(39 cases) and experimental group(36 cases) by random number table method. The control group received routine therapy, while the experimental group was treated with routine therapy plus warm needling therapy five times a week for four consecutive weeks. The changes on the conduction of motor nerve and sensory nerve in these two groups before and after treatment were compared. RESULTS: Before treatment, the motor nerve conduction velocity(MCV), distal motor latency(DML), compound muscle action potential amplitude(CMAP), sensory nerve conduction velocity(SCV) and sensory nerve action potential amplitude(SNAP) of the median nerve and ulnar nerve in the two groups were compared, and there was no statistically significant difference(all P>0.05). After treatment, the MCV and SCV of median nerve and ulnar nerve in the experimental group were accelerated(all P<0.05), the DML of median nerve and ulnar nerve were shortened(all P<0.01), and the CMAP of median nerve increased compared with the control group(P<0.01). However, there was no significant difference in the CMAP of ulnar nerve and SNAP of median nerve and ulnar nerve(all P>0.05). CONCLUSION: Warm needling therapy can improve the conduction of motor nerve and sensory nerve. Warm needling therapy might be able to promote the repair of injury in axons and myelin sheaths.

ABSTRACT

Abstract@#In recent years, the incidence of allergic diseases in children and adolescents has been on the rise globally, which has become an important public health problem. It is important to identify modifiable risk factors for allergic diseases in this group. In this paper, through research review on the association between sleep behavior and allergic diseases in children and adolescents, it is suggested that sleep deficiency, sleep disorder and sleep rhythm disturbance are closely related to children s allergic diseases, which provides a new concept for prevention of allergic diseases through sleep behavioral improvement.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluating the effectiveness of comprehensive measures to control the plague in epidemic areas in Longlin county Guangxi from 2001 to 2010.Methods Original epidemic places was deratised, indicative animals were investigated, and epidemic clues were searched.Cage trapping method was used to capture rat and rat body fleas were collected in the plague epidemic areas. The flea-carrying rates and flea index of rodents were calculated based on the number of fleas collected from caged rodents. The animals were then subjected to etiological and serological tests to determine the plague infection rate. Results A total of 1008 rats were captured and 571 fleas were collected from 2001 to 2010,of which Rattus Flavipestus accounted tor 81.65%(823/1008) and Xenopsylla Cheopis for 64.10%(366/571).The annual average rodents infected with flea and the index of flea were 23.02% (177/769) and 0.74,respectively.The annual average density of rodents decreased from 3.99% (859/21 508,before deratised) to 0.96% (149/15 600,after deratised). The deratization rate was 75.94%.Conclusion The risk of a plague epidemic in Longlin county is reduced after continued comprehensive measures be taken to deal with the disease.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the outcome of surveillance results on plague and to provide the evidences for the policy making in Longlin county Guangxi. Methods The epidemic data and the surveillance results of plague were analyzed and assessed with epidemiology methods in Longlin county Guangxi from 2000 to 2009, and the density of rodents, the rodents infected with flea, flea index and other indicators were calculated. Regional composition of the rats and fleas were analyzed. Results A totally of 4829 rats were captured and 4737 fleas were collected in the past 10 years, Rattus Flavipestus(81.92%,3956/4829) and Xenopsylla Cheopis (79.04%,3744/4737) were dominant species. The annual average density of rodents, the rodents infected with flea, index of flea were 3.30%(4829/146 206), 27.99%(1351/4827) and 0.98(4737/4827), respectively. A totally of 4792 rats were examined and 10 strains Yersinia Pestis were isolated. Indirect hemorrhagic assessed(IHA) was used to test the F1 antibody against plague in the blood serum of the rats and indicator animals, and 3 positive rats and 24 positive animals were found, respectively. Twenty seven natural villages in 3 towns had been involved in the plague. Conclusions The plague foci exists in Longlin county of Guangxi province. The plague foci in the areas have the same feature with the plague foci of Rattus Flavipectus. There is a potential risk for plague in this region, we should improve the quality of surveillance, increase indicator animals of the plague, and try to apply new surveillance method.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the distribution of water fluoride and the status of water-improving defluoridation projects, thus to explore the condition of endemic fluorosis in Guangxi Province. Methods According to"The National Technical Scheme for Endemic Disease Contml in 2005",the fuorine content in water Was determined by F-ion selective electrode, children's dental fluorosis was checked by Dean method.and the skeletal fluorosis was checked by the standard of clinical scale of skeletal fluorosis. Results 305 water samples in 61 villages were examined, among which 71 waters were exceeded the standard, accounting for 23.28%(71/305).The projects of defluoriding drinking water were running well except one was discarded. The prevalence of dental fluorosis was 13.55%(356/2627),the prevalence of skeletal fluorosis was 4.02%(65/1615).Conclusions The situation of endemic fluorosis control is not optimistic in Guangxi, which needs fuaher prevention and controls.

ABSTRACT

@#ObjectiveTo study the effects of early rehabilitation on symptom, range of motion (ROM) and motor function of upper extremity of patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke.Methods47 patients were divided into two groups, early rehabilitation group and non-early rehabilitation group. Two groups were treated with comprehensive rehabilitation. The passive ROM, the pain and motor function of affected limb was assessed by Fugl-Meyer Assessment. The evalution was done in pre-treatment and post-treatment respectively. Results1.The passive ROM decreased and the pain of affected limb of the early rehabilitation group were less than the non-early rehabilitation gronp when the shoulder-hand syndrome occour.2.After comprehensive rehabilitation treatment, their clinical symptom ROM and motor function of upper extremity impoved significantly in patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke( P<0.05).The early rehabilitation treatment has better effects. Conclusions The early rehabilitation treatment could decrease the degree of their passive ROM decrease and the pain of affected limb in patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke, and the patients who accepted earlyrehabilitation seemed easly to improve by comprehensive treatment.
